Heartwarming Story...

A Thanksgiving story if I may....one year ago on Thanksgiving this little man had heart surgery at A&M.  Because he needed to remain calm & quiet during recovery he was allowed to go with his foster family to their Thanksgiving at the coast. He was allowed to take leisurely strolls and one day when the rest of the family took off for a field trip he and his foster mom took a stroll around the canal as they had done previously.
But on this day Elmo, a Boykin Spaniel and water dog, saw something in the canal  that needed his attention.
Without warning he jumped in the canal - there was no way out. His foster mom could not pull him out and then his collar slipped off.
She finally got it back on, and tried everything to get him out. He became tired but remained calm as she held on and called for help. No one was at the condos because they were still recovering from hurricane Harvey.

He was still struggling and his foster mom became very worried.  The only thing she could think of was to go in with him and keep him calm and afloat. It was chilly and yucky water, but they were soon rescued by a workman who appeared out of no where - they could lift Elmo out but not the foster mom.
She told the man to go on, she would hope her family would soon be back. He left but returned with a ladder he happened to have found. The man disappeared and soon the family returned. They searched for two days for the man to thank him.
A true Thanksgiving gift had looked after Elmo.
